We're so damn piratey we rarely do journals

That's because what with all the time of being on the run and pillaging fine, fine booty, who has time to write journals?

hahaha

New info effective immediately: We are no longer accepting multiple views of the same image. It is redundant and takes away overall from the impression one should be getting from your submitted work. Please only submit the
best (whatever that may be in your opinion,we're not judging, we only want any
one) image of a photo series or installation, i.e. photos of the same person from multiple angles are no longer allowed- choose your best one of your session. Images that vary vastly from the same photography session, i.e. more than one person in an action pose or multiple, at a different angle, different setup, etc., will be approved at the discretion of the mods here.
Please do NOT spam us with multiple "different" angle shots of the same thing. Choose your best work to submit. Thank you.

Alrighty peeps so while this is a pirate group and we support all kinds of pirates (sea pirates, space, yada whatevs) when you're submitting, if your deviation doesn't look particularly piratey or the artist's comment doesn't say something about the character being a pirate, it will not be approved.
I know this is somewhat subjective territory, but unless directly stated in a deviation's description, we won't take it. We've been getting a lot of iffy submissions lately that are walking a very fine line of "Is this This or That?" so unless otherwise stated, they will not be approved.
Some things are very obvious (salty sea pirates, hur hur, will be hastily approved

) but getting into other fandoms and areas like space, steampunk, etc. the deviation MUST make a note of it, as space and steampunk can be indeed piratey, but being a pirate is not a requirement in the sci fi and steampunk genres/fields

. It doesn't matter if other piratey groups accepted your piece, ours requires a bit more. Don't like it? Walk the plank
This applies not only to people/photography/drawings but also to costumery and artisan crafty things. And if your prop or whatever you want to submit seems totally out of left field, but is indeed from a pirate movie or whatnot (i don't know, take for instance anything
Treasure Planet that may not at first glance seem to have anything to do with pirates and looks like some scifi hi-tech stuff) just make a note of the fandom or whatever it's from for us please
A laser gun? That's nice, but it's not piratey. Wait, it's a laser gun from a space pirates fandom? Okay, that's cool then

It's really just a matter of making a note of it. We're doing this to prevent submission abuse (you've all surely come across deviation spammers. We'd like to avoid this and make sure people who are submitting actually care about the group

).
We're starting to toe the line on some iffy things, but we do and have accepted a LOT of different types of work, so please, if it is piratey but may not be apparent to us, your deviation description must make a note of it.

It's not like we're saying don't submit. Just add a bit of info. And if that's asking too much of you, well, suck it. We don't ask for anything in the first place but if you cannot do that much maybe you're better off with a different, more lazy group

(and we happen to be pirates who don't do anything so don't even go there).
Thanks guys!
